Mt. Dickerman, Jul 23, 2006
This was a tough one. Temperature was in the 90s. Trail is steep; basically a long series of switchbacks heading to the
top of the mountain. Elevation gain is 3723 ft in 4.3 miles of trail. Last mile or so has no shade. But the forest during
the first couple of miles is nice, the wildflowers near the top are pretty, and the 360° view of nearby mountains from
the summit is awesome.
Nearby Big Four Mountain becomes visible as the big trees thin out.
Forest gives way to alpine meadows as elevation increases. Wildflowers appear.
Many of the low plants are mountain blueberries. But we're too early for the fruiting season.
The summit is 5723 ft. Here are a series of views looking first to the north, then more to the east, etc.
A little something for the ladies.
