Steve & Chris flew from Seattle to Oakland, CA on Tue 08.04. Our main purpose was to attend a
big family reunion at Pacific Grove, on 08.08-11 (detailed elsewhere). Before that, since we had a few free days in the Bay Area, we got the
wacky idea to visit the three highest peaks in the area (shown on map below), on three successive days.
Wed 08.05. Panoramic views from Seaview Trail, Tilden Regional Park (east of Berkeley).
* Looking east toward San Pablo and Briones reservoirs, and Orinda.
* Looking west toward San Francisco peninsula and southern end of Marin County.

The "steam train" at south end of Tilden Park (note: nearby Vollmer Peak [1905 ft]
is the highest point in Berkeley hills).
South end of Seaview Trail, where it branches off paved road.

Climbing Hogback Fire Trail (starting from Throckmorton Fire Station on Panoramic Highway
near Muir Woods), then Fern Creek Trail, toward East Peak of Mt. Tamalpais.
Panoramic views to south and east.
Lookout station at top. Mount Tamalpais (East Peak = 2571 ft)
